Scaredy Cat

“Sara, comon, its just a ride with big drops” Friday night, the night before Halloween, me and my best friend Victoria decided to meet up my friend Ayo at Canobie Lake Park for the annual Scream Fest. Victoria really likes rollercoasters and crazy insane rides, but I don’t. She was trying to get me to go on this one specific roller coaster called the Corkscrew and I refused. I was scared of it. I was also scared because there were people dressed up. Some of them were clowns which I have always been afraid of, and another really scary one was this girl that was dressed up as a doll. She skipped after me and stuck her face in mine right when we got there, which made the night even scarier. Another person was dressed up looking like he was dead, and he would chase people around with a chain saw, trying to scare us. He scared us all so much, enough to make us cry.

So what exactly is fear? Fear is basically the same thing as being scared. Well, it is. People can get scared for many reasons. Some reasons I get scared is if I have a big test coming up. This shakes my nerve system up a little bit, and I think it does so because I know that I know the stuff, but I’m just nervous to see if its challenging. Another thing that makes me full of fear is when we have pacers in p.e. This makes me scared, because everyone does so much better then me, and I know that I’ll be one of the first to drop out. I’m never the first, I’m normally in the middle. One other reason people get full of fear is if they have to do something that they haven’t enjoyed in the past. For example: If you go to say, Canobie Lake Park, and all your friends want to go on a roller coaster, but you don’t enjoy them, you may have to go on, and you get these butterflies in your stomach and you feel like your going to get sick.

Fear happens in Romeo and Juliet when Friar Lawrence secretly marries Romeo and Juliet without anyone knowing. So what happens to Paris. Well he tells Friar Lawrence that he loves Juliet, he thinks he marrying her, etc. So onto the fear. This makes Juliet worried.

“What if people find out that I’m married to Romeo, and I dont wan’t to marry Paris”

With Juliet thinking these awful thoughts, Friar Lawrence comes up with what he thinks is a brilliant plan. It is to poison Juliet for a few days, make it seem like she died, have a funeral in her family tomb, and she can slip away and live happily ever after with Romeo.

Sounds so perfect eh? Well, to Friar Lawrence it does, but this causes Juliet to think about the hole thing. She thinks this over in her head and comes across this…

“What if it doesn’t work?”

“What if I wake up and he’s not there?”

“What if I die?”

“What if we get caught and someone gets banished?”

“What if it DOES work?”

“What if Romeo IS there?”

“What if Paris keeps making the wedding date closer and closer to today, and we don’t have time to make the poison?”

This hole plan messes with Juliets mind and causes her to get very scared and fearful of what’s comming her way.
